Suite

One bedroom, or rather two? Our suite (70 m2 or 100m2) makes both possible. The living room invites to dwell or to work, however you like. The only balcony of the house and a dreamlike view of the Kiel Fjord top this off.

Double room deluxe

A room with a view: as far as down to the Fjord, especially in winter with no foliage. The insides? Relaxed interior design, timelessly elegant, with a hint of history.

Double room superior

As inviting as it is elegant. And surprisingly different in the details. The only real difference: its perspective. Over the roofs of Düsternbrook.

Deutsch-Dänische Geschichte

Unser Marienflügel verdankt seinem Namen der dänischen Kronprinzessin Marie Sophie Frederike, die ab 1805 zusammen mit ihrem Mann Kronprinz Friedrich im Kieler Schloss lebte. Gehörten doch die Herzogtümer Schleswig und Holstein damals zu Dänemark. Friedrich ließ 1807 eine Allee zwischen der Schlossallee und der Krusenkroppel anlegen, so dass Düsternbrook damals noch Ausflugsziel der Kieler mit der Stadt verbunden wurde. Ein Jahr später errichtete die Stadt auf einem Gelände oberhalb der Krusenkoppel einen Park mit einem Pavillon im Stil eines griechischen Tempels. Dieser wurde der Kronprinzessin Marie zum Geschenk gemacht, zum einen aus Dankbarkeit über den Bau der Allee und zum anderen zur Feier der Geburt ihrer Tochter Wilhelmine und wurde Marienhain genannt. Und dieser Marienhain liegt genau vor unserer Tür, oder genauer vor dem Tor zur Krusenkoppel, im Düsternbrooker Gehölz.
