Michael Kempf, chef of the year 2008, is our guest chef

On January 30 and 31 the Schleswig-Holstein Gourmet Festival was held in our house. Our team around head chef Hauke Jensen enjoyed once again to welcome a very prominent guest chef: Michael Kempf. In 2003, aged a mere 26, Kempf went to work in Berlin’s “Facil” Restaurant after he had been working for kitchen guru Dieter Müller. He quickly gained reputation when being awarded a Michelin star as the youngest chef to receive such honors. Kempf’s cuisine is frank and light, which was of special significance for the Gault-Millau test eaters. They elected him chef of the year 2008. Kempf’s good reputation is also known in Schleswig-Holstein: Both days of our event were fully booked well ahead of time.
